About me
Dr. Andrew Koch is an engineer and scientist with the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, working as a project lead for the Joint Simulation Environment. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Mary's College of Maryland and his Master of Aeronautical Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is the Treasurer and Secretary of the growingSTEMS Board of Directors and, since 2016, has mentored students on FRC Team 836 The RoboBees, where he currently serves as the Lead Coach. Outside of robotics, he also provides prehospital care as an EMT and officer at Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad, serves on the vestry for Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Mary's City, and teaches as an adjunct professor at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He is a graduate of the NAVAIR Leadership Development Program and Leadership Southern Maryland.
